The property which today is the home of the Vienna State Opera Ballet School and the Opera Costume Workshop was built by Anton Hefft in 1863. Designed in the style of the New Vienna Renaissance, the building also serves as the headquarters of the Wiener Bundestheater. The design with three inner courtyards ensures both tranquility and daylight exposure of the interior units. In the course of the reconstruction, the access and the technical equipment of the building were brought up to the latest standards.
